Kazu calls himself a development and communication professional. However the collection of hats that he wears is large and varied. Professionally he has worked as a development and environment journalist, researcher, manager and trainer in a large landscape of the environment, development and conflict. Apart from his day jobs, he is a photographer, documentary filmmaker and traveller. His areas of interest are conflict, borders/transnationalism, human rights, migration, identity politics, resource management and livelihoods.
